Why Apple don’t need flash
Admittedly I don’t know enough about the legal side to know whether Apple would have to pay Adobe to use Flash on their devices; but what I do know, is that Apple seems to be one step ahead of you crazy people. YouTube have successfully shown off their HTML 5.0 capabilities and they’re going to be making their content available through this as well as Flash. Being that YouTube are the biggest stage for any video, it gives you an idea of the influence they hold over any online content. With this is mind, you can understand the shift that will occur over the next 5 years with respect to plug-in based content. And if you haven’t already guessed, flash will eventually disappear along with many other plug-ins. Really there is nothing advantageous to Flash over HTML, but HTML can manipulated in so many ways and accessed by a far larger audience than Flash. Oh and yeah back to the point, Apple have already cottoned onto this and that’s why you are seeing no flash on the likes of the iPad. Stop complaining people, we don’t even need Flash! Rant over.
